Life History of Serge J. Lauper

Serge, 1928
Serge, 1928

Written and dictated by Serge J. Lauper, then edited and published in a printed booklet by his daughter, Claudia Lauper Bushman, in 1989.

This history apparently supercedes an earlier, smaller work undertaken in 1974 when Serge dictated a tape-recorded history to his daughter Bonnie.

At the funeral of his wife Jean, in September of 1977, words from Jean's own autobiography were read as a summary of her life history.
Jean had also written some guidelines for her funeral.

Poetry

Serge was a great appreciator of poetry. Among his papers was this short poem.

Life is mostly froth and bubbles, Two things stand like stone: Kindness in another's troubles, Courage in your own. - Adam Lindsay Gordon
