Life History of Marcel F. Lauper

Chapter 11

Concluding Thoughts in 1977

So, in conclusion, at this moment I want to say I pray each and every day for my wife, our children, and their families, as well as for my brothers and sisters--especially for the father and mother of a handicapped daughter (sweet Karen), my two widowed sisters and their children; and for those of the family who have their special callings from the Lord to direct the affairs of others.

To my children, I want you to know I am in good health for which I am immensely grateful, in my 66th year of life; and I want to declare my love for you and your mother. I pray for each one of you many times each day, and I am interested in every move you make. I would like you to remember the words of our Savior when He said to His Disciples, "To love one another even as I have loved you", for the great abiding and burning desire within my heart is that you will not only stay close to the Lord, but that you will love one another.

To Susan, Margaret, Diane, John, and Janelle, I ask that you love one another, and do whatever necessary to show it.

I want you all, whoever should read this account, but especially my wife and descendants, to know for sure that I love the Lord, God; I love my Savior. I know that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints is true--this I know with all my heart. Your Grandfather and Grandmother Lauper gave me this particular blessing, my testimony, and it burns strong within my heart. Joseph Smith was and is a Prophet of the living God. Our Heavenly Father is the Father of our spirits, and Jesus is our Savior and Redeemer.

It is your father's desire that you might have these same feelings; a strong personal testimony, and that you will love one another; and that you will show it. God bless you now and always.

Your father, Marcel Franklin Lauper, San Leandro, California, June, 1977.
